Didn't realize this was based on true events.
Best to watch in the dark as most of the footage is dark and can't really see much of anything.
Nothing too freaky deaky accept for those pesky cockroaches and Johns side burns.
The design they used for the devilish monster was pretty cool and pretty much the only cool thing about this film.

Producer during test screening: I see one person who's still awake! You need to reshoot this. I don't want any open eyes in the house!!!!
Directors: No problem. We will make it so no one can fight sleep during our film!
Also, this is the first movie I watched on the Midnight Pulp streaming site. They have lots of good material, but all their ads are geared towards old men who can't move without pain. It was starting to get a little depressing. But I still enjoyed those ads more than the movie.

October Horror Challenge 2017 Movie #78
It took two directors to make a movie this shameless and tedious. It disgustingly wants to be a James Wan film, even down to the mini-version of a long take showing the family moving in while period rock plays but nowhere near as polished, and eventually decides to crib from every other notable mainstream 70s horror. But it's all done so damned boringly, with terrible acting and ugly visuals to really drive home how intolerable it all is. Then it decides to go for the ending it has just to inject even more ill will towards it when you finish it.

House of Evil (2017) (Italy) *1/2 Amazon Prime: Another young couple moves into another countryside house with a shitty past and bad things start to happen. Italian made but filmed in English, House of Evil is a sleep inducing bit of sadistic boredom. A couple ghosts hang around the place they got murdered as Kate’s photographer boyfriend slowly gets his ass possessed by the evil presence residing within the quiet home. When Kate gets pregnant the endgame is eventually revealed and the movie (thankfully) comes to a close. You’ve seen it a few thousand times and done much better. There’s one or two memorable bits but you’re better off just skipping this lazy cure for insomnia.

Based on true events, a very creepy, disturbing, storyline. An exceptional cast "Andrew Harwood Mills" plays the part of John, a man that gets posessed but will he kill his girlfriend and unborn child in this remote house away from the city? The setting of the old house is very creepy and the cockroaches and dark atmosphere increase the suspense. I watched till the end but was quite disappointed by the abrupt ending and the ending was quite strange not as expected. Would probably watch again.
